Deep In The Week !

"Deep In The Week" is an opportunity for you to dig deeper into God's word.  It's a time to challenge yourself for personal growth in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

I am not ashamed of the gospel.
Greetings in the name of Jesus Mark 4:14 the sower sows the word. Romans 1:16-17 I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes… For therein is then righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith. Four times the bible says the just shall live by faith. Habakkuk 2:4, John 3:36, and Galatians 3:11 and Romans 1:17b. The just are those that have been born again. What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 says now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Smith Wigglesworth says in his book on faith (that faith is an inward operation of the divine power that dwells in the contrite heart and can lay hold of the things not seen.  Faith is active, faith lays hold; faith is the hand of God; faith is the power of God.)
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him ( God): for he that comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. We have to use our faith to believe God is real because we have not seen Him, and we must also believe that He rewards those that diligently seek Him. Where do we get faith? Romans 10:17 says so then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. It says by hearing, not by reading. We hear it when we go to church, and listen to tapes, but we will get our faith quicker and understand more by reading it out loud and listening for the Holy Spirit to reveal to us what He is saying. Notice it does not say by having heard. We must be in the word on a daily basis. That is diligently seeking Him. When we do that we get to know Him, not just know about Him. We seek God through prayer and doing what Joshua 1:8 says by meditating the word.  Matthew 6:33 seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. We are to seek Him and get to know Him. Jesus said in John 15:7 If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask what you will and it will be done unto you. Abide means to live. Do we want all our prayers answered? Then we must get into the word and find out what God has said about what we are praying for then we will know what God’s will is for that situation. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. That is getting to know Him, and it produces great rewards.
Does this mean we will never have trials? NO. John 16: 33 says. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. He has already done it, all we have to do is believe. Mark 9:23 all things are possible to them that believe. Jesus did it when He went to the cross, died and God raised Him from death. We can overcome him (Satan) by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of our testimony. Revelation12:11a. Learning to live so we can hear God and obey Him, is the secret to an overcoming life. Daily communion with God strengthens us. If we will take time to listen for His small still voice. If we are to busy for God, we are to busy period.
We can be full of knowledge about faith we can understand where faith comes from and what it does and how to release our faith, but we will not have the power to put any of these into action unless we spend time with Him and maintain a living connection with Him. We need the knowledge. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Isaiah 5:13 My people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge…. But it is also important to use that knowledge to its fullest. We can have a huge amount of money in the bank, but if we never do anything with it, we will not benefit from it. The same is true if we do not use the knowledge that we have. I am talking about the knowledge we receive from meditating on the word of God. When we receive the knowledge from God’s word we can accomplish anything in our daily lives. Some people say if I just had more money, no if you had more knowledge you could find out how to get money. Psalms 1: 1-3 Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. If I just had better health, no with God’s knowledge you can stay healthy. Proverbs 4:20-22 My son give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh. If I just had a better job no Proverbs 3: 13-16 Happy is the man  who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold, She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor. This tells us that the wisdom and knowledge that comes from God is more valuable than anything we could ever have. It is there for us but we must seek for it, search for it, believe it and do it.
Many Christians are like Martha in Luke10:40, 42 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and said to the Lord, tell Mary to help me. But the Lord said Martha, Martha you are anxious about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part… Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus, getting to know Him. Jesus said that was the good part. The creator of the universe wants to fellowship with us on a daily basis, and we are to busy for God. What is wrong with this picture?
Adam and Eve had an amazing opportunity to walk with God in the cool of the day. Genesis3:8. But they were deceived by Satan and they died spiritually and lost their relationship with God. But when Jesus went to the cross all that changed He paid the price for our sins and restored the opportunity to fellowship with God again. We now can come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace in time of need. Hebrews 4:16. We can fellowship with Him any time night or day. When we try to work God into our schedule instead of working our schedule around Him we have it backwards and Satan will take advantage of that and make sure we will stay to busy for God.
If we seek Him every day in good times and in bad we will be strengthened in our faith. God knows the end from the beginning, He said in Joshua 1:5 and Hebrews13:5 that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  His Holy Spirit lives in us and communes with our spirit, but we must be listening for the inward voice and obey what He tells us to do. If we did that we could avoid a lot of the troubles. James 4:8 says draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you. Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith… More importantly we would be able to go through with greater victories. Psalms23:4 Yeah tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. When we call on God He is always there for us. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived God is not mocked, whatever a man sows that shall he also reap. When we sow time with God, He will make sure we have time for all our needs. Philippians 4:19 My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Notice He said need, not needs, He supplies our each and every need as we need them. He does not supply all our needs at the same time. He also may prompt us to eliminate some things that are hindering our walk with Him. They may not be sinful as such, but they may be things that we do not necessarily need to be doing because they are taking to much of our time.
Don’t wait for trouble to show up, develop a lifestyle of fellowshipping with God daily, even when things are going well, and we can avoid most of our trials because we will know what God has said about it, and we will know how to pray and believe God for the answer. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. But we have to know what I John 5:14-15 says to go along with that. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. According to His will, His word is His will for everyone. But we do not know what His will is if we do not spend time with Him. Also God knows our need before we ask, so why pray the problem when we should be praising and thanking Him for the answer before we see it in the natural? Remember II Corinthians 5:7 We walk by faith and not by sight. God says in Psalms 91:15 I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.
Getting to know God is vital to our success because victory is won first in the heart (our spirit) then in the circumstances. We must know that God is a good God and that He loves us. John 10:10 Jesus says the thief (Satan) comes to steal kill and destroy, I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Notice it said might, it is up to us to make it happen by fellowshipping with God, and getting to know Him.
John 8:31-32 Jesus said to those who believed. If you continue in My word then you are My disciples in deed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 14:21 he that has My commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves Me: and he that loves Me shall be loved of My father, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him. All this is based on knowing God and not just knowing about God.

I hope you will use this resource on a regular basis as a tool to better your walk as you follow Christ with your life.
