Deep In The Week !

"Deep In The Week" is an opportunity for you to dig deeper into God's word.  It's a time to challenge yourself for personal growth in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

KNOWING WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST
Greetings in the name of Jesus Mark 4:14 the sower sows the word.
II Corinthians 5:21 For He has made Him(Jesus) to be sin for us Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him(Jesus). John 8:31-32 Jesus said, If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed, and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. It has nothing to do with our feelings. If we are born again we are the righteousness of God. It has nothing to do with us doing anything to earn His righteousness it is a gift. Romans 5:17 If by one man’s offence death reigned by one; MUCH MORE they which receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ.( I added the bold letters and capitalization.) Other scriptures do talk about “the fruits of our righteousness,” but they are referring to the fruit that is a product of our right standing with God. Phil.1:11, II Cor.9:10. Righteousness as a fruit is a result of our being connected to the vine ( John 15:1-8). The gift of righteousness is received as a gift as soon as we are born again. The fruit of righteousness is to grow or develop to that place of righteousness.
Romans 3:23-26 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare I say, at this time His RIGHTEOUSNESS: that He might be JUST, and THE JUSTIFIER of him which believes in Jesus. According to the Greek words used, just and righteous are the same. God has declared His righteousness to us through Jesus. All of Gods children have the same righteousness and the same right standing with God because we are in Christ and He is our righteousness. God hears and answers the prayers of His children. God loves all His children just as much as He loves Jesus. John 17:23 I in them and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Jesus said that. James 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
II Corinthians 5:17-21 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of God who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to know that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He has made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. In Christ believers are the righteousness of God. We need to say out loud, I AM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST.
James 5:17 Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it did not rain on the earth by the space of three year and six months. I   Kings 18: 44-46. But in I kings 19 when Queen Jezebel sent word to him that she was going kill him he ran in fear and hid. We all make mistakes like Elijah did. James said he was righteous and so are we. Psalms 32:1-2 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord does not impute iniquity… The old testament covered their sins. But we have a better covenant. Hebrews 8:6b He (Jesus) is a mediator of a better covenant… I John 1:9 If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our sins are not just covered they are washed away by the blood of Jesus. Revelations 1:5 …Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood. When we became born again all of our sins, past present, and future are washed by the blood. But we must continue to repent and ask for forgiveness when we do or say something that is not pleasing to God. The verse we said in I John one nine is for believers. This is another truth we see when we abide in the word of God.
When we know this and we believe it and act as if we are the righteousness of God in Christ that is when Satan will begin to attack us and try to tell us we are not the righteousness of God in Christ. But we can overcome him by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Revelation 12:11. There are four other places in the bible that tell us we are to stop Satan. Mark 16:17,Ephessians 4:27, James 4:7, I Peter 5:8,9. Remember II Corinthians 5:21 For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. He has already done this. Thank you Jesus!!!! We are who God says we are. We have what God says we have, and we can do what God says we can do.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We now know we can have our prayers answered by God because we will pray according to His will. I John5:14-15.
Since we know we are in Christ and we are His righteousness and it has nothing to do with our feelings, and it is not even a problem of having enough faith. If there is a problem it is a lack of knowing what God has said and done for us. Remember Jesus said abide in My word and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. It is the truth that makes us free.
